Town of Granite Quarry Announces Pause of Granite Fest for 2026
COMMUNITY & EVENTS
The Town of Granite Quarry has announced that Granite Fest, the community’s annual signature festival, will not be held in 2026 due to the ongoing renovation and redevelopment of Granite Civic Park.
After careful consideration of several alternative locations, Town officials and the Granite Fest planning team determined that none could adequately support the vision, atmosphere, and experience that residents and visitors have come to expect from the event.
“Granite Fest has become one of our community’s most anticipated traditions,” said Mayor Brittany H. Barnhardt. “While this was not an easy decision, we believe it is the right one. Rather than offering a scaled-back version of the festival, we have chosen to pause for a year and focus our efforts on bringing back an even better event in 2027.”
The Town recognizes the dedication of the Granite Quarry Events Committee, a team of five volunteers who tirelessly donate their time, creativity, and energy throughout the year to make Granite Fest a success. Their commitment, along with the support of sponsors, vendors, performers, and community partners, has helped make the festival a highlight for residents across the region.
Community Engagement Coordinator and Granite Fest Events Coordinator Debbie Loflin-Benge expressed excitement about the festival’s future. “While we are disappointed to miss a year of Granite Fest, we are incredibly excited about what lies ahead. The improvements being made to Granite Civic Park will create new opportunities for entertainment, activities, and community engagement. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027 for a Granite Fest that showcases not only the return of this beloved tradition but also our beautifully redesigned park.”
Town Manager Jason Hord emphasized that the temporary pause reflects the Town’s commitment to quality and community experience. “Granite Fest deserves a setting that allows the event to reach its full potential. The renovations currently underway at Granite Civic Park represent an investment in our community’s future, and we believe residents will agree that waiting one year will be well worth it.”
The Town of Granite Quarry looks forward to sharing updates on both the park renovation project and plans for the return of Granite Fest in 2027.
