Town of Granite Quarry, NC Notice of Public Hearing Regarding Proposed Conveyance of Town Property for Economic Development Purposes Pursuant to NCGS§ 158-7.1

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Granite Quarry will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as agenda progression allows, at the Granite Quarry Town Hall, 143 N. Salisbury Avenue, Granite Quarry, NC 28146.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments and consider the proposed conveyance and sale of certain town-owned real property through private negotiation pursuant to NCGS§ 158-7.1 for industrial or economic development use.

1. Description of Property to be Conveyed: The property will consist of a fee simple interest in the approximately +/- 16 gross acres of land located on Chamandy Dr in Salisbury, NC identified as parcel 404 147 and as shown on the plat recorded in Plat Book #1297, Page #445 in the office of the Register of Deeds of Rowan County.
2. Proposed Purchaser: MRP Industrial SE, LLC
3. Value of the Interest: The estimated fair market value of the property, subject to any proposed covenants, conditions, and restrictions, is $101,629.
4. Proposed Consideration: The proposed consideration to be received by the Town is $150,000 in cash, together with the binding commitments of the purchaser to construct a manufacturing/industrial facility on the property pursuant to an Economic Development Agreement to be entered into by the parties. The proposed conveyance is intended to promote economic development, facilitate the expansion of an industrial operation, increase the Town’s taxable property and employment opportunities, and further the purposes of N.C.G.S. § 158-7.1.
5. Governing Body’s Intention: It is the intention of the Town Council of the Town of Granite Quarry to approve the proposed conveyance and economic development agreement pursuant to NCGS§ 158-7.1 upon the conclusion of the public hearing or at a subsequent regular meeting.

A copy of the draft Agreement of Purchase and Sale, property details, and contract terms are available for public inspection during regular business hours at the office of the Town Clerk, located at Granite Quarry Town Hall. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and present comments regarding the proposed economic development conveyance.
