#GQSOLID Award Winner 2025 Q3 Public Works Asst. Director Josh Whitley

The #GQSOLID Award is a quarterly recognition program developed to honor Town of Granite Quarry employees who go above and beyond in their roles. These outstanding individuals consistently demonstrate exceptional work ethic, initiative, teamwork, and a positive attitude that uplifts their department and the entire organization. To be selected, an employee must show consistent dependability, initiative beyond their regular duties, and serve as a role model for others. Winners are chosen by an Employee Committee based on nominations submitted by fellow staff members.

The Town of Granite Quarry is proud to announce Josh Whitley as this quarter’s recipient of the #GQSOLID Award. Since joining the team, Josh has made a significant and positive impact. His efforts have fostered a strong sense of teamwork across departments. Known for his enthusiastic approach and dedication to any task assigned to him, Josh has quickly become a valued and respected member of the organization.

One of Josh’s two nominators shared: “Since joining the team, Josh has been a huge asset to the Town. In just a short period of time, he has improved communications, installed a better quality of work, worked as a team, and has been very enthusiastic in his day-to-day procedures. I am extremely proud of his SOLID efforts!” Josh’s second nominator stated, “Josh Whitley exemplifies the Town of Granite Quarry’s core values in everything he does. He consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that work is completed efficiently, correctly, and with pride. When challenges arise, Josh never hesitates to step in, pick up the slack, and find solutions. He is highly reliable, accountable, and handles special requests with professionalism and a positive attitude.

As a leader, Josh is respected by all employees. He leads by example with honesty, integrity, and dedication. He supports his team, communicates clearly, and is always willing to help others succeed. His commitment to teamwork strengthens the entire department. A clear example of Josh’s dedication to residents and the community occurred on two separate occasions when storms caused multiple trees to fall on private property. Even though the debris far exceeded what the Town normally collects for free, Josh personally coordinated with the residents and organized additional cleanup efforts to ensure their yards were taken care of. His willingness to go above and beyond demonstrated outstanding service, compassion, and enthusiastic engagement with our community. Josh cares deeply about the town, its residents, and his fellow employees. He continually troubleshoots new situations, adapts quickly, and finds the best path forward. His leadership, work ethic, and commitment to quality make him an invaluable asset to the Town of Granite Quarry. For these reasons and more, Josh Whitley is highly deserving of the #GQSOLID Award.”
