May through September 2026!

The appearance of our town is especially important to us. The Community Appearance Commission will be hosting the Yard of the Month contest from May through September for 2026. All yards within the town limits are eligible for this title whether it is a single-family home, duplex, apartment complex or business. Whether you rent or own, take pride in your surroundings and join in the fun. To nominate your yard or someone else’s, scroll down for the form.

Two winners will be chosen each month during the contest. Judging will be held by members of the CAC on the second Wednesday of each month. Winners will receive an award to keep as well as a sign in the yard until the next winner is selected. Photos will also be posted on this page in the winners gallery.

Nominees are judged solely on the total exterior appearance of their property and front/side yard as viewed from the street. General upkeep of the yard and property is paramount.

Factors include the overall appearance, tidiness and neatness of the front of the property as evidenced by pruned, trimmed and shaped foliage, edged and defined lawns, borders & flower beds, and a visually eye-catching curb appeal.
Lawn: Grass should be healthy with no bare spots or excessive weeds.

In October and December, CAC will hold holiday decorating contests for those who love to get into the holiday spirit.
