The Town of Granite Quarry was selected by the Parks and Recreation Authority as a recipient of a 2024 PARTF grant. The Town of Granite Quarry completed its site-specific Civic Park master plan earlier in the year. This process was completed by Stewart Engineering, an architectural firm based in Raleigh. Site needs were assessed, and public feedback gained through various public input sessions and electronic surveys. At the conclusion, the Granite Quarry Town Council voted to accept the final concept and move forward with the Civic Park Master Plan. The Granite Civic Park was established in 1950 and has been maintained by town staff and volunteers for over 74 years. The $500,000 PARTF grant is a match to the $500,000 set forth by the Granite Quarry Town Council in the town's transformational fund. These renovations will bring updated shelter and restroom facilities, new playground equipment, updated tennis/pickleball courts, new splashpad, and updated basketball court.
