The existing Granite Civic Park, established in 1950, is a 5.25 acre recreation memorial to the people of Granite Quarry. The existence of this park exemplifies what a small community can do with hard work and dedication. The majority of land was donated by Mr. J. F. Crook to Granite Post Park, Inc. The property was purchased by Town Citizen donations and placed in the Town's name.

The sole purpose of Granite Civic Park has always been, and will continue to be, to provide the citizens of Granite Quarry a safe and enjoyable place to play and fellowship with friends and family.  A volunteer board called the Action for Community Teamwork Advisory Board worked hard to improve the quality of life in Granite Quarry. They focused on positive activities for youth, and crime and drug prevention. Through a joint effort between this group and the Town of Granite Quarry, grants were obtained to afford the newest improvements of Granite Civic Park.

Granite Civic Park has a rather large picnic shelter, which also provides an enclosed kitchen equipped with stove, sink, refrigerator and even a microwave. The shelter can accommodate rather large groups and has been utilized for many family reunions, school outings and even wedding receptions. Two rest rooms, one female and one male, are located in the large picnic shelter. To insure availability, this shelter must be reserved through the Town Hall.  A smaller shelter is located just a few feet from the large shelter and can accommodate small groups or just a family picnic.

A baseball field is just a few feet from both shelters and the playground is located where it is easy to watch small children at play. In addition to the playground area and baseball field, there are tennis courts, basketball courts and a place to play volleyball.
